CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Canandaigua man is dead after New York State Troopers say he crashed his motorcycle in Hamilton County.

It happened on Wednesday at about 4 p.m. on State Route 30 in the town of Long Lake near South Pond.

Troopers say Steven J. Lacrosse, 58, ran off the east shoulder of the road while he was going through a curve, his motorcycle hit the guidewires, and he was thrown off.

Lacrosse was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say an autopsy will be conducted on Thursday.
